What does BYOT mean for McKee Road?
Bring Your Own Technologies is a CMS initiative to allow students to use their own technology at specified times during the day to enhance the learning experience.
Learning will initially look the same but with technology. Technology should always be at the service of teaching and learning. Integrating technology in the classroom has the power to redefine classroom relationships and reorient them toward a more student-centered approach to learning. These transformations in relationships and learning, along with real-world, authentic connections is invaluable to the 21st century learner. At first, new technology will be a teaching tool, then it will transform the way students learn and teachers teach. Technology offers an opportunity for educators to reach students with different learning styles, communication styles, and so much more in ways that we couldn't before.
Unacceptable use WILL BE dealt with accordingly based on our school's discipline process and digital citizenship expectations. This should not be considered different than any other infraction, as this is a behavior not the technology.
